AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is a striker. She also serves as captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division for professional women's soccer. From 2018 to 2020, she served as co-captain for the women's national soccer team of America alongside Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the time and played a major role in the team's winning the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time, was the youngest player in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished as runner-up. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game during the 2012 London Olympics. Her 2012 ended with 21 goals, 28 goals, and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. This made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was an FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
