Carey is a former top fashion model who stands at 5'10", was popular with American fashion houses like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was an eminent geologist and recognized as the Scientist from 1979 by Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey was a frequent traveler due to her father's work. In her college years, she began to model part-time and attracted the attention of Ford model Agency representatives in New York. Following her move to France in the summer of 1999, where she resided between Paris, Bordeaux and New York, she decided that she would return home to New York and continue her training. Soon, Vogue, Glamour and various other magazines included her on the covers. When she was modeling as she studied in full-time a major in literature within New York University.
