Despacito was a track from the year 2017 released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the single that became the most popular streamed song in the world within 6 months. In 2017, the song Despacito which was a mix of reggaeton and pop, not only brought new interest to reggaeton but also increased interest in Latin music. The Billboard Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs from 2016 compared with two for 2015. In 2017, at the peak of the popularity of Despacito 19, 19 songs mostly in Spanish were included in the Top 100. By 2020 it will have 41 hits within this genre. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 with a version in two languages. In the following months, several artists collaborated with reggaeton superstars such as Drake as well as Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma together with Medellin 2019. Reggaeton's mainstreaming was an issue for some artists during the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, determined to maintain the style. Incorporating elements of electronic dance music, and various other genres was a typical practice.
